The Brits!
The Brits takes place every year in the incredible resort of Tignes. Hundreds of skiers and snowboarders line up and compete in several events against the top riders from all over. If you're around the Espace Killy this week, get yourself there! There will be live music, world class riding, après sessions and much more. Check out the competition info below so you don't miss a thing.

AGE CATEGORIES
- U12: Born in 2003 or after
- U16: Born in 1999, 2000, 2001 or 2002
- U18: Born in 1998 or 1997 (NOT INDOOR)
- MASTER: Born in 1984 or earlier (NOT INDOOR)
- OPEN: 1996 - 1985 (1998 if not U18 category being awarded)
SPECIAL NOTES
Snowboardcross and Skiercross - U12, U16, U18 & MASTERS competing in either Snowboardcross or Skiercross can opt to compete in the OPEN category but MUST INFORM REGISTRATION upon collection of their Bib.
IMPORTANT: If the final result is taken on timed runs, then the athlete will be eligible for both their age category & overall titles.
N.B. The Overall category is where the National Champions are crowned and cash prizes awarded.
Slopestyle and Halfpipe - U12,U16,U18 & MASTERS competing in Slopestyle and Halfpipe will automatically be placed in both their "Age" category and "OPEN" category. Making it possible to win both.
JUDGING RULES
Studying the procedures and criteria behind judging and then putting these skills into practise is a very complex matter which demands attendance at judging conferences and workshops and takes years of experience to hone, however, in the interest of transparency we are working with our fully qualified Head Judges to create an overview document to inform athletes as to what is rewarded.
EQUIPMENT RULES
All competitors MUST wear a helmet when practicing and competing at the BRITS
No lycra or speed suits, cling film allowed.
PRIZES & MEDALS
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS (HP, SS, SX)
The Overall category to the top 3 men, top 3 women in both snowboarding and skiing;
- 1st = Gold Medal
- 2nd = Silver Medal
- 3rd = Bronze Medal
BANGERS & CASH
- 1st (Men & Women in Under 16 and over 16) = Gold Medal
- 2nd (Men & Women) = Silver Medal
- 3rd (Men & Women) = Bronze Medal
- Additionally cash will be given out for bangers!
300 MEDALS
Medals are awarded for the British Championship's. These are distributed through U12, U16, U18, Open and Master categories. Potentially, an athlete could win their age category and finish in the top 3 Overall and receive 2 medals.
SPECIAL NOTE
Snowboardcross & Skiercross events - riders must notify registration should they wish to participate in the Overall category to gain a chance of becoming the official "British Champion".
